The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has announced the launch of the "Our Cities Cheer for Our Team" initiative, which aims to enable citizens to support the Saudi national team and experience the atmosphere of the 2026 FIFA World Cup through public viewing sites across the Kingdom’s various regions, cities, and governorates.
The initiative involves designating and equipping public viewing sites in the squares, parks, municipal frontages, and public facilities prepared by the regional and local municipalities to welcome fans wishing to follow the Saudi national team’s matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, in safe and attractive environments fully equipped with supporting services and amenities.
The initiative aims to enable neighborhood residents to follow Al-Akhdhar Al-Saudi’s matches near their homes and to strengthen community participation in supporting the national team through a shared fan experience that brings together families, friends, and visitors across the Kingdom’s cities and governorates.
The Ministry affirmed the readiness of the public viewing sites and their supporting facilities and services, enabling fans to enjoy the tournament’s atmosphere at fully equipped, integrated locations that enhance the use of public facilities and urban destinations and reinforce their role as vibrant community spaces.
It explained that the preparations covered the squares, parks, public frontages, and municipal sites designated to welcome fans, in line with the turnout expected during the Saudi national team’s matches, reflecting the development that Saudi cities are witnessing in the urban landscape, public destinations, urban humanization projects, and quality-of-life improvements.
The Ministry added that the initiative seeks to transform squares, parks, and public frontages into community destinations where fans gather to support the national team and live the World Cup atmosphere in a shared national experience, one that reflects the community’s unity around Al-Akhdhar Al-Saudi and highlights the spirit of enthusiasm and belonging that unites citizens and residents on its soil.
The regional and local municipalities across the Kingdom’s regions continue to implement their operational and service plans for the sites designated for public viewing, ensuring an integrated experience for visitors and strengthening the role of public facilities as spaces that support community interaction and enrich the quality of life.
The "Our Cities Cheer for Our Team" initiative represents an extension of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing’s efforts to enhance the quality of life and activate public facilities as attractive community destinations that host national experiences and major events and contribute to enriching the lives of residents and visitors throughout the Kingdom.
